Ozahtanka is in Faribault County The two largest lakes of this county, Minnesota Lake, before noticed, and Ozahtanka Lake in Barber and Emerald Townships, have been drained, their beds being now cultivated farmlands. Both these names are on the map of 1860, each being the Dakota language. Tanka, like tonka, means "great," but Ozah is not defined in Stephen R. Riggs's Dictionary. From: Upham, Warren.
