On Sunday, August 19, at 2:00 p.m., a dedication will be held for a marker honoring the Le Sueur Tigers. The dedication includes unveiling of the marker, presentation of colors, comments by local dignitaries and historians and a musket volley and cannon salute by the 5th MN Infantry and New Ulm Battery.
On August 19, 1862, the Le Sueur militia volunteers organized into two companies named the Le Sueu Tires and went to New Ulm to assist citizens their in the defense of their community.
