Fort Ridgely, Fairfax, Tom Ross of the Upper Sioux Community will give a presentation on the history of treaties between the Dakota and Ojibwe nations, and the United States government, and how treaties are exercised today. Mr. Ross was one of eight members who researched and developed the traveling exhibit Why Treaties Matter, a collaboration of the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council, the Minnesota Humanities Center and the Smithsonian Institutions National Museum of the American Indian.
