Lake Isabelle is in Dakota County Lake Isabelle, adjoining the east edge of the city of Hastings, was stated by the late Gen. William G. Le Duc to be named in honor of a daughter of Alexis Bailly, one of the original proprietors of this city. The Dakota name of this lake was Mahto-waukan, Spirit Bear. From: Upham, Warren.
