DL: Is it a good idea to commemorate the events of the mid 1800’s?

BA: I think for the Natives it would be, because I think the more history that’s shared about what happened, the better. I know I didn’t hear about my own Native history, other than a belief that we were savages, when I was growing up, I know it’s more than that. I think the more we can learn and try and understand how it was, the better we will be as a people.
