Fort Ridgely, Fairfax, Author Mary Bakeman will discuss the 1857 Spirit Lake Massacre. Inkpaduta's 1857 attack on Spirit Lake, Iowa and southwest Minnesota is often cited as a cause of the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862. Mary will also have her Park Genealogical books for sale the day of the event.
