Location
The film “Dakota 38” will be showing on Sunday, February 10 at 2:30 PM at the Weitz Center for Creativity in Northfield, MN. The Weitz Center is located at 320 Third St E. where the Carleton College campus and the neighborhood community meet. Please join us to view this powerful film that depicts the annual commemorative 330-mile horse ride in remembrance of the largest mass execution in the history of the United States. The ride is inspired by a Dakota man’s dream of healing from the effects of the Dakota Wars. You are invited to stay for a group discussion after the film as a Dakota rider elaborates on the significance of this ceremonial ride, and the riders’ hope for healing and reconciliation for our common history.
